Wrapping Up Microsoft Convergence 2015 EMEA

We enjoyed a solid week of insights, connections and opportunities in Barcelona and have put together some of our takeaways from this conference , described as Microsoft’s flagship business conference in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. With our new office in Amsterdam, we are looking forward to helping new partners grow and succeed in this emerging data economy.

Lifecycle Services Solutions

Microsoft is continuing to push and encourage partners to develop ‘LCS’ solutions. They are very big on having these out there so that customers can truly receive ‘best practice’ process flows and functionality for their industry and company requirements. This continues to be a push, and this is being branded as something very good for the customer.

Those using LCS can improve the predictability and quality of their Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 implementations by simplifying and standardizing the implementation process to realize business value faster. The goal of LCS is to deliver the right information, at the right time, to the right people and to help ensure repeatable, predictable success with each roll out of an implementation, update or upgrade.

Transportation Industry

The transportation industry, globally, is growing quickly. Regulations and technology are changing, and now is the time to leverage new systems and new business processes to improve efficiency and profitability. Blue Horseshoe’s new product AXLE – Logistics Execution for Dynamics AX – garnered much interest and attention in Barcelona. This will be a vast change in the landscape for both Blue Horseshoe and Microsoft’s Dynamics AX product.

AXLE will extend the capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics AX to Logistics Service Providers who are both Asset Based (managing their own private fleets) or Non-Asset based (like a brokerage, freight forwarder or managed service operators.)

European Buzz

The partner ecosystem in Europe is very strong.  Since the recent opening of our office in Amsterdam, Blue Horseshoe is helping many Microsoft Partners understand and implement the new WHS/TMS modules in AX 2012 R3. Convergence was a perfect time to network with our current partners, and meet some of our future partners.

At the same time, there is also a sense of newness for Blue Horseshoe in Europe. We are finding that many partners need help understanding the complexities of the new warehousing & transportation modules, and we are focused in giving these partners access and assistance within our company to help successfully implement the new R3 modules.

Other notables …

>>> We noticed Microsoft is all-in with Skype for business. There seems to be growing interest and we saw a number of demonstrations on the ways Skype is being integrated into all products.

>>> CRM is getting a similar push; easy integration with all solutions. And as hand-held technology continues to evolve, we saw CRM Mobile as the next big thing on the horizon.

>>> Also, we took note of three big product revelations: Microsoft Office 365 and a range of new solutions; Dynamics CRM 2016’s global launch as a comprehensive customer relationship management solution for sales professionals; and PowerApps, a new service allowing employees to create their own apps that are connected to business systems in a secure way and share them with co-workers.

Bigger and better

All in all, we found this year’s even in Barcelona bigger and better with more attendees and exhibitors, making it well worth our time and investment. We understand more than 5,000 business & IT leaders from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa were on hand. It was a great way to explore new solutions and technologies, share business challenges and opportunities, and hear many inspiring stories of business transformation.
