Top Take-aways from Microsoft Convergence 2015

As we put a wrap on our time in Atlanta, we wanted to share some of our take-aways and lessons learned from #CONV15, as it was called on Twitter. Take a look below, compare your notes and let us know if you have some thoughts to share.

The Message

booth-2If there was one message that came through loud and clear this year, it was this: Microsoft Convergence was about business transformation. Businesses need to transform their systems to utilize the web, social media, mobile and all new technologies, apps and software. Microsoft is positioning itself as the new business platform to answer these business needs within specific industries.

Exciting trends we noted

  • Mobility enablement apps converging phone and tablet use as an extension of a business’s current ERP system.
  • Continuation of the cloud computing message, and movement of these business transforming technologies so they can be implemented within the cloud.
  • Growth of the Microsoft CRM platform and its inclusion and push from Microsoft corporate. Bundling of ERP, CRM, and Office 365 as a complete business platform.
  • Domain expertise solutions within vertical industries is being built out to make Dynamics AX a better complete and deeper solution.

Why it was so cool to be here

The atmosphere at Convergence this year was very good. There was a good number of partners and companies throwing great parties on St Patty’s day. Our cocktails and conversation event at STATS was a huge success, we plan to do this again next year! One of the highlights was the concert on Wednesday night by one Republic. They put on a very good show. Lastly, we did discover, too late I might add, the best cocktails in Atlanta can be had at the White Oak Kitchen and Cocktails. We had an unbelievable old fashioned, while in great company, at a great location!

Good times in Booth # 1834 (that’s us)

The booth traffic at Convergence was exceptional! With our unveiling of Voice in Action within Dynamics AX, the growing number of companies starting to utilize the new R3 WAX/TRAX modules; not to mention the large interest in our new transportation fleet and asset management software AXLE. We were happy to entertain our clients and partners this year at our cocktail event as well as in the booth. Many people enjoyed the demonstration of our new voice enablement solutions for Dynamics AX given by Jim Butler in the booth.

And then there was this …

It was great seeing our partner HaloBI at their lunch and learn, this was a great informative event for partners and customers. As usual the Wi-Fi connection within the exhibition center was very problematic, it even interrupted one of the giveaways which was using the connection to draw their winning number. Luckily, they were able to improvise, and select the winner in a different manner.

Next year …

Party in N’awlins? You bet we will be there!
